The Company was founded in 2005 in Spain as Gestamp Asetym Solar, a small engineering and development firm. The Company rapidly grew into a globally recognized player in the PV market.
The first grid connection is undertaken at the Abanilla plant in Spain.
Offices in the US and Italy are opened and the unstoppable internationalisation process begins with the grid connection of the first plant in Italy.
The first US plant is connected to the grid and the Chile office is opened. The workforce exceeds 100 employees worldwide.
The Cape Town (South Africa) office is opened and the first grid connection is undertaken in South America (Tacna plant in Peru).

In December, the fund KKR Global Infrastructure Investors II acquires an 80% stake in the company and it changes its name to X-ELIO.
X-ELIO is awarded a 244MWp contract in a renewable energy auction held in Mexico. The X-ELIO workforce exceeds 150 employees.
X-ELIO moves into Australia, opening its Melbourne office.
X-ELIO is awarded a 455MW contract in a renewable energy auction in Spain, becoming the second most successful bidder in photovoltaic power. The result confirms the company's position as a benchmark in the national sector and strengthens its international position.
An agreement is reached between Brookfield and KKR through which they will control X-ELIO through a 50/50 partnership.
The world needs to be increasingly dependent on clean energy, replacing the traditional sources such as oil and coal. Solar energy is expected to become the biggest source of electricity in the world.
X-ELIO's business is selling the solar energy generated by its parks. To this end, we focus our efforts on bringing on-line eco-friendly and highly profitable solar enargy projects, offering solutions tailored to individual needs.
